The country Pakistan means “Land of the pure” came into being on 14 August 1947 with untiring struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah founder of Pakistan. It is situated in South Asia sharing its border with Afghanistan, Iran, China and India. It is the world’s 6th most populous country having population of more than 220 million. It is the world’s 33rd largest country by area having a 1058 KM coast line along the Arabian Sea and shares a maritime border with Oman in the South.

Pakistan has been the site of several ancient civilizations, including the Mehrgarh of the Neolithic, the Indus valley civilization of the Bronze Age and the Gandhara Civilization. Buddhists and Sikhs have a number of their holy places in different parts of Pakistan. Pakistan is the only Islamic Nuclear power and 2nd in South Asia having sixth largest standing Armed forces in the world. Pakistan is a member of UN, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Non
Aligned Movement, OIC, Common Wealth of Nations and SAARC etc.

Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Quetta, Multan and Rawalpindi are some big cities of Pakistan. Gawadar newly operational sea port in Baluchistan is going to open new trade Gateways for many countries. Karachi and Faisal Abad both big cities are well known for textile, Garments and cloth related products. Sialkot one of the city in Punjab is well known for Sports Goods, leather products and Surgical instruments. Although Pakistan team has not participated in FIFA world cup but Foot ball used in current and past FIFA world cups are manufactured by renowned sports firms ie Saga Sports and Forward Sports of Pakistan. Apart from this, almost all the sports items of best quality including cricket bats, balls, Hockey sticks, Rackets of

Squash, Badminton, table tennis, Basketballs and Rugby are manufactured at large scale. So importers of sports goods have great attraction in Sialkot city. Sikh fraternity has their religious places in Nankana Sahib, Kartarpur, Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal, Sacha Soda and so many places in Punjab. Lahore is a city of modern and historical
culture. Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Forte, Minar-e-Pakistan, Jehangir Tomb, Shalimar Garden and Masjid Wazir Khan are renowned historical places in Lahore. Variety of tasty Punjabi food, folk culture depicted in stage dramas, shopping of garments is well attracted by foreign tourists. Pakistan has also world’s 2nd largest and oldest Salt mine in Khewra, north of Pinddadan Khan, Jhelum. Taxila and its surrounding area has great attraction for Buddhist
community due to their old relics of Stupas.

Majority of the foreign tourists visit Northern areas of Pakistan including Gilgit Baltistan, Skradu, Khujerab pass, Ghizer valley Attabad Lake and Kalash valley due to having old rich culture, pleasant weather and natural sceneries. Apart from this Naran, Kaghan, Malam Jabba, Swat and Murree Hills has great attraction for tourists for its natural sceneries. Five mountains above 8000 meter exists in Northern area of Pakistan.

Major tallest peaks which have great attraction for mountaineers are Karakoram-2 (8611 m), Nanga Parbat (8126 m), Gasherbrum-1 Peak (8068 m), Gasherbrum-ll Peak (8035 m), Broad Peak (8047 m), Ulter Peak (7388 m) and Lady Finger Peak(6000 m). Northern Area of Pakistan is also well known for gems and stones, dry fruits and minerals etc.

Culture of Pakistan is very rich, which is depicted in spring festivals organized in different parts of country, where tent pegging, horse and cattle show, dance shows, folk singing, food stalls and polo matches are played. At International level, Pakistan has gain worldwide reputation in fields of cricket, hockey, squash and snooker games by winning world cups. Pakistan is a country of hospitable, moderate and amazing people but some anti state media houses have portrayed negative image of Pakistan for their vested interests. Foreign tourists who visited Pakistan are visiting Pakistan again and again and rule out the negative reporting against Pakistan. There are great opportunities for foreign traders, investors and tourists to take benefits from rising economy of Pakistan.
